Artifact # 1 (1b)
This file to the left demonstrates my knowledge of students because I attended an IEP meeting for a down syndrome girl. In this meeting we discussed how we could best facilitate for her so that in the classroom she would be set up for success and help her grow and learn from being in the standard classroom with her peers. There was a plan put in place for everyone that would be involved in her learning process, this paper was ways that I could specifically help her be successful when I was working with her. This artifact expresses my knowledge of a specific student with special needs and a plan to best help her achieve her goals in the classroom. Artifact #2 (1e) This artifact to the left is a copy of a lesson plan that demonstrates my ability to design coherent instruction in a lesson for the students. This lesson plan was based around a book titled "Groovy Joe: Ice cream and Dinosaurs". This was an art project which helped teach the students about sharing. I was able to make all components of the lesson by myself and adding instructional outcomes, standards, and an art activity. For this lesson I had to create and gather materials the students would need for the art project and also create a lesson around the book that helped teach the students learn about the importance of sharing. I also included pictures of the final art product by the students and a chart we created about what their favorite flavor of ice cream was. Artifact #3 (1d) The file to the left is the artifact that demonstrates my knowledge of resources, during a math measurement lesson in my Kindergarten placement. During this math lesson, I was teaching the students about measurement and I had a worksheet of items they had to measure. The items on the paper were things they could find around the classroom, then they were using the blocks that connect together to measure those items. They loved this lesson because they were able to explore the classroom and find resources they could use as well as being able to use the blocks to help them measure. I believe this was such an important way to teach the lesson because the hands on activity was able to get them excited about measurement. Also the fact that they were using items around the classroom they were able to make a connection to the lesson. |
