Artifact #1 (2e)
This artifact is a picture of what I envision my future classroom to look like and then a reason why I would place things where I did. This expresses my knowledge of organizing physical space in a classroom and having a reason for why, this shows that there is a purpose for everything and that purpose is to best set up my students for success in the classroom. Artifact #2 (2c) This artifact is a picture of the Lincoln learner qualities and rules that we use at the elementary school to help the students be successful in the classroom. They are posted in our classroom so that they have a constant reminder and if they ever need an extra boost to help them they have it right in front of them. These learner qualities were put into place in the beginning of the year to help both the students and us as teachers be successful in the classroom. This is also helps me in establishing a culture for learning when I am teaching, and the students are aware and know of the expectations in the classroom. The artifact helps me feed into the idea that students can take pride and ownership of the work they are doing, and know that I am always there for them. Artifact #3 (2a) This artifact is a picture of me demonstrating my ability to create an environment of respect and rapport. In my kindergarten placement at Lincoln Elementary, I was in charge of the lowest workshop group. In this workshop group we were working on learning all 26 letters and sounds of the alphabet. In this small workshop group I was able to help make each student feel comfortable and confident in their skills even if they were in the lower group. They each felt safe in learning and growing with one another each day. This helped create an environment where they could make mistakes and it was fine because we would just keep practicing until they were able to get it. I was able to individually create a connection with each student and understand their weak spots as well as their high spots and adjust to help meet their needs. |
